You don´t have to tip taxi drivers but they appreciate it if you round up the fare. Finally, several companies offer river tours down the Seine. It may be a touristy way to get around but it´s still fun.

Olympic athletes had to be male, of Greek nationality, and not slaves. They promised to compete in an honourable way and to follow the rules but some athletes still cheated. If caught, they had to pay a large fine and this money was used to pay for statues of Zeus, which were located along the route to the stadium with the name of the cheat on each base. To get to the stadium, the athletes had to walk past all the statues.

It may look like a giant starfish, but in fact it´s an artist´s impression of Grafton New Hall, the futuristic winner of a Royal Institute of British Architects competition for a modern English country house. It was designed by Ushida Findlay architects, better known for ultra-modern town houses in Tokyo. It´s an extraordinary building which is unlike any other in England. The house is designed to look as if it´s growing out of the ground; it is very low, and will be almost invisible from a distance.

Bethany Hamilton was the best girl surfer of her age when she lost an arm in a shark attack. She was only thirteen years old and was surfing in Hawaii when a tiger shark attacked her and tore off her left arm. It happened so fast she didn´t even scream. But Bethany was determined to get back on a surf board as soon as possible. As soon as she left hospital, she began practising her surfing exercises on the beach. Everyone was amazed to see her surfing so soon after her accident. Incredibly, she finished 5th at the National Surfing Championships.

Her Greek boyfriend is a farmer. But until a few years ago she lived in London. She was working for American Express and she had a good social life and earned a lof money. She had to get up very early every morning and get a train and tube to work. Then one day she decided to go to Lipsi. She loved everything there and a few months later she applied for a job at the travel company which had organized her holiday.
